One Hundred To One is a new country-folk-rock, single release. With lyrics by Anne Killen and music by Jenny Taylor, the song was inspired by the unlikely and historic 2015 Melbourne Cup riding win, by lady jockey, Michelle Payne, on Prince of Penzance. The song celebrates both her historic ride and her colorful speech following the unexpected win. Anne put $5 on the pair for a win and the $500 winnings paid for the recording of the song. Both the win, the speech after the win and the song, are an anthem for the underdog. One Hundred To One was nominated for a Golden Guitar 2020. But got pipped at the post!

The song and the historic event is part of the larger story of the advancement of women. It acknowledges the strange synchronicity of Emily Davison’s protest in 1913 and of course the traditional purple and green suffragette colors. “One Hundred To One” (Giddy Up) is performed by Australia’s premier Country Choir Lipstick and Spurs; frocked up, quirky women singing country, as they have since 2005.

Lipstick and Spurs is Australia's Premier country music choir, created in 2005 by songwriter and choir leader Jenny Taylor. The choir is a collaboration between Jenny Taylor, professional musicians and recreational singers. After performing for 5 years in Australia's outback as a country singer, Jenny yearned to sing country songs in the urban environment of Melbourne's north.

Lipstick and Spurs has performed at many festivals over the years: Whittlesea Country Music Festival, Tamworth Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Darebin Music Feast, and Mt Beauty Music Muster, as well as fetes, soirees, and carnivals. The choir has also worked with guest artists, including Sally Dastey (Tiddas), Greg Champion, Trish Anderson (GIT), Kutcha Edwards and John Lane.
